Reasons why machine tools are getting worse and worse, finally found the root cause, explained clearly!

Why are machine tools getting worse year by year? The main reasons are as follows:
1. Cutting corners
Using materials with much lower specifications. Previously, fast wire EDM generally used cast iron with specification 180 under normal circumstances. Currently, many manufacturers are using less than 160, and medium wire EDM claims to use 250, but few actually do. Insufficient hardness results in deformation.
Small bed, large slide; small horse pulling a big cart. Take wire cutting as an example, a 50-ton machine bed with an 80-ton machine's worktable slide on top. The casting itself uses low-grade materials with insufficient hardness, and the added overload makes it easier to deform.
In the past, old manufacturers would place castings outside for sun and rain for more than a year to eliminate stress. Now, in pursuit of faster delivery, they process them immediately after receiving them, or even start processing while the castings are still hot.
The thickness and weight of castings are much less than before. Some machine tools are prone to cracking during transportation and lifting, requiring re-smelting.
2. Processing equipment problems
During this trip to Jiangsu and Zhejiang, exchanges with people from all sides revealed another situation: very few factories use high-precision CNC gantry mother machines to process machine beds; most still use traditional old equipment. Good mother machines cost millions, which is unaffordable. Naturally, various indicators cannot be met.

3. Personnel issues
Everyone knows that the assembly of machine tools is extremely important. Older assembly technicians are gradually aging and leaving. Most young people are unwilling to work in this industry; they all want to earn quick and easy money. The few who are still doing it are just going through the motions, let alone in-depth learning and serious research. The assembled machine tools are of poor quality.
4. Environmental situation
The golden period of manufacturing from 2002 to 2012 has passed, and the manufacturing industry is declining, so the demand for machine tools is also declining. There are still many manufacturers and distributors, and everyone needs to eat. Without a significant technological advantage, they can only compete on price; whoever is cheaper gets more orders.
The above are the reasons why machine tools are getting worse and worse.
Why do manufacturers do this? Answer: It's all to reduce costs, for survival, and to make a small profit.
Think about it, which item hasn't increased in price and cost in recent years? Raw materials, rent, water, electricity, taxes, labor, and environmental protection restrictions prevent operation; machine tool prices are still falling. The only way is to cut corners, make poor-quality machine tools, shorten their lifespan, and harm users.
From the perspective of a neutral third party, I hope users can be more rational. You get what you pay for; don't just look at the price and try to kill the manufacturers, not giving them a reasonable profit.
Sometimes it seems like you save a little money in the short term, but in the long run, you still lose out. Normally, a machine can be used for 5 years, but now it's only usable for 1 year due to price pressure. Consider whether it's worthwhile.
Of course, manufacturers should also strictly regulate themselves, do what they should do, let quality win customers, and I believe that many users will have increasingly rational judgment and choices.
Building a good ecological environment requires everyone's efforts. Only then will the industry have hope, will no longer be ridiculed and humiliated, and will be able to stand on equal footing with, or even surpass, our competitors.
