What are the standards for piston operation in a piston production line?

Pistons from the same production line must use the same part number for the same model to ensure that the diameter and quality differences do not exceed the original requirements. Otherwise, it will cause poor diesel engine ignition, rough operation, and reduced efficiency and power.
Standard piston production line machinery and equipment operate under high temperature, high pressure, high speed, and poor lubrication conditions. The piston is in direct contact with high-temperature gas, and the instantaneous temperature reaches above 2500K. Therefore, it experiences severe heating, and the heat dissipation conditions are very poor, resulting in a very high working temperature of the piston, reaching 600~700K at the top, and the temperature distribution is very uneven.

The piston crown bears very high air pressure, especially during the power stroke, reaching 3~5 MPa for gasoline engines and 6~9 MPa for diesel engines. This causes impact to the piston and puts pressure on it; the piston reciprocates in the cylinder at a high speed (8~12 m/s), and the speed constantly changes, causing a large inertial moment and subjecting the piston to a very large additional load.
Under these conditions, the piston will deform and accelerate wear, causing additional loads and internal stresses, while also being subjected to chemical corrosion from the gas. Piston inspection mainly involves the measurement of the crankshaft diameter, piston pin height, and piston pin bore size:
1. The selection of pistons should be determined according to the repair specifications of the cylinder; generally, increased specification values are indicated on the piston top;
2. In the same series, the structure of the pistons may not be the same, so when purchasing pistons, it is necessary to use matching pistons according to the type of diesel engine. On the same diesel engine, pistons of the same brand, the same batch, or the same product number should be used;
The same model should use pistons with the same product number to ensure that the piston diameter difference and quality difference do not exceed the original factory requirements. Otherwise, it will cause poor combustion, rough operation, reduced efficiency, and power reduction. Therefore, when selecting pistons, it is necessary to use matching models according to the type of diesel engine.
