Compared with foreign machine tools, most domestic CNC machine tools can only target the low-end market. In the field of high-end CNC machine tools, China lags far behind the United States, Germany, and Japan, most importantly in terms of processing accuracy and reliability. Especially in the field of high-end CNC machine tools, we 95% need to import products. Specifically in the aviation industry, many high-precision CNC machine tools used domestically are often civilian products purchased from abroad. Using foreign CNC machine tools will lead to serious dependence. For example, a certain aviation engine fuel and hydraulic accessory factory uses 10 domestic CNC machine tools, accounting for 29% of the total, using 25 imported CNC machine tools, accounting for 71% of the total. From the factory's feedback, civilian CNC machine tools imported from abroad often have higher precision than China's top CNC machine tools.

In the field of high-performance, high-precision CNC machine tools, China urgently needs to make a breakthrough. However, in order to ensure the availability of high-quality standard parts for domestically produced fighter jets, it is simply impossible to rely solely on the documents in the hands of one or several skilled experts. On the one hand, the aviation industry needs to increase investment and purchase more advanced high-precision CNC machine tools; on the other hand, the CNC machine tool manufacturing industry also needs to upgrade from the low-end market to the high-end market.
