What types of pistons are suitable for piston production lines?

Because pistons on gas turbine piston production lines operate under high-pressure, long-term load standards, the requirements for pistons are relatively high. Therefore, it is crucial to discuss the classification of gas turbine pistons.

  Piston Production Line

  1. Piston production lines can be divided into gasoline engine pistons, diesel engine pistons, and natural gas pistons according to the application materials.

  2. Piston production lines can be divided into cast iron pistons, steel pistons, aluminum alloy profile pistons, and component pistons according to the raw materials used to manufacture the pistons.

  3. Piston production lines can be divided into aluminum alloy cast pistons, extrusion cast pistons, and forged pistons according to the processing technology of the piston blanks.

  4. According to the working conditions of the piston, piston production lines are divided into two categories: non-extended pistons and extended pistons.

  5. According to the main uses of pistons, piston production lines can be divided into car pistons, truck pistons, motorcycle pistons, ship pistons, heavy tank pistons, tractor pistons, lawn mower pistons, etc.

The piston pin and crankshaft connecting rod of the piston production line transmit the driving force to the engine crankshaft, thereby carrying out the entire working process of the internal combustion engine. Because the piston is in a high-speed, high-pressure, and high-temperature working environment, the stability and durability of the diesel engine must be fully considered. The piston must also have sufficient compressive strength and bending stiffness, good heat transfer, high temperature resistance, low thermal expansion coefficient, low density, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and low cost.

It is difficult to find a piston production line that can consider all the regulations because the regulations are numerous and stringent, and some regulations are contradictory. Therefore, the quality of the engine depends not only on the selected raw materials but also on the rationality of the design scheme.

Generally, pistons on piston production lines are cylindrical. According to different operating standards and regulations of diesel engines, the pistons themselves have various structures. Generally, pistons are divided into three parts: the top of the head, the journal, and the piston pin seat.
